PLANT DESCRIPTION
A big shrub to a small tree grows up to the height of 8 meters. Leaves long, oblong with dentate margins. Flowers unisexual. Fruits small, round, yellowish with a single seed. An insect called Sinips galli tinctoria sucks the juice from its branches and makes a cocoon-like shelter for itself in which it lays its eggs. This is called mayaphala
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated kapha, pitta, inflammation, wound, bleeding, diarrhea, dysentery, bleeding piles, leucorrhea, and poison (for stomach wash in case of poison ingestion)
