PLANT DESCRIPTION
A biennial herb grows up to 30 cm long. Leaves simple, crowded in the base of condensed stem, ovate; flowers 2-3 in long slender spikes; tuberous tap root, is purple in color. Tap root and leaves are used as vegetable.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, urinary retention, anemia, inflammation, liver and spleen diseases, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea and general debility.
