PLANT DESCRIPTION
Small evergreen dioecious rigid stemmed shrub grows up to 4 meters in height. Leaves linear, entire or more or less serrulate towards the apex, glabrous above and glandular scaly beneath; flowers sessile in axillary, elongated, pubescent spikes, stamens in male flowers: fruits globose capsules, seeds yellowish brown.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, haemorrhoids, vesical calculi, strangury, painful micturition, gonorrhoea, syphilis, toothache, ulcers, wounds and skin diseases.
