PLANT DESCRIPTION
An erect, branched, annual herb; leaves single, opposite, long petiolated, lanceolate and acute; flowers small in axillary pannicles; fruits many; green when unripe and bright red when ripe, with single seed. Ripe fruits look like tomato and hence the name.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated thridosas, tumor, cough, asthma, inflammation and skin diseases, plant has anti-cancerous property. It is a controversial plant with Solanum nigrum.
