Perennial laticiferous woody climber. Leaves are simple, opposite, and cordate. Flowers are whitish purple in color, as axillary umbellate cyme. Fruits thick follicles, about 9 cm long and pointed. Roots are long, irregularly twisted, thick and cylindrical.
