PLANT DESCRIPTION
A large grass grows up to 5 meters in height. Leaves simple alternate, long lanceolate, acute and scrubby. Flowers terminal in small branches, in long spikes. Seeds long, pointed on both sides and many. Stem hollow, about 1 inch radius and prominent nodes. Internodal length 30-54 cm.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, kapha, diarrhea, cardiac ailments, leucorrhoea, skin disease and renal diseases.
