Distribution – Throughout India, in stagnant waters; in ponds and lakes.   
PLANT DESCRIPTION
An extensively spreading delicate aquatic plant grows floating over water. Leaves small, up to 2.5cm long, segments variable in thickness and amount of toothing; flowers solitary, axillary, male female flowes in separate axils from same plant; fruits ovoid or ellipsoid nutlets with persistent long style.    
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, diarrhea, dysentery, burning sensation, excessive perspiration, epistaxis, blood vomiting hemorrhoids, ulcers and intermittent fevers. Plants extract shows anti microbial activity.
Useful part    :    Whole plant.  
CHEMICAL CONTENTS
The herb is rich in protein, calcium and magnesium; contains ferredoxin and plastocyanin. EtOH 50%).
Dosage - Whole plant 10-20 ml juice; 50 - 100ml decoction. (CCRAS)
