Distribution – Throughout the moist evergreen forests of Western ghats.  
PLANT DESCRIPTION
A soft stemmed creeper plant grows creeping over ground. Nodal root fixes plant on ground on each nodes. Leaves cordate, obtuse, with less wavy margins, leathery, with cuticle covering on outer surface and long petioled. Flowers apical or axillary, bright white colored, fruits small oval berries, bearing two small oval seeds.   
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated kapha, pitta, diarrhea, amebic dysentery, insomnia, loss of memory, skin diseases, cough, chest infections, asthma, poison and worm infestations. It induces vomiting on large doses. Properties are similar to those of Cephaelis ipecacuanha
