Distribution – Growing naturally throughout Western Ghats, and in Plains in wet places.
PLANT DESCRIPTION
An annual or rarely perennial undershrub grows up to .5 meters in height. Leaves simple, alternate, elliptic-lanceolate, acute and glabrous. Flowers yellow, solitary and found in leaf axils. Fruits quadrangular, capsules, clove like appearance with numerous minute ovoid seeds.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, anorexia, dyspepsia, diarrhea, cough, asthma, neuropathy, headache, leucorrhea and fever.
