PLANT DESCRIPTION
A large semi climber shrub with long drooping branches. Leaves simple, alternate, ovate - lanceolate, acuminate, entire, upper surface shiny; flowers greenish in axillary panicles. Fruits grayish berries with single globose seed.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated kapha, vata, intestinal worms, abdominal spasm, diarrhea, dysentery, flatulence, hypotension, and in bradicarida. It is widely used as an adulterant for Embelia ribes.
