PLANT DESCRIPTION
Moderate sized tree, grows up to 10 m in height; leaves simple, alternate, oblong-lanceolate, minutely serrate; flowers very beautiful, white tinged with red, showy, appearing before the leaves or with the early foliage from scaly buds; fruits velvety drupes about 3-6 cm long, separating into 2 valves on maturity exposing the compressed stones having minute holes, the stones enclose the edible kernal.

Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, burning sensation, neuralgia, cough, obstruction of the liver and spleen, amenorrhea, otalgia, skin diseases, pruritus, inflammation, ascites, colic, peptic ulcer, renal and vesical calculi and general debility
