PLANT DESCRIPTION
A medium to large sized, spreading evergreen tree grows up to 25 meters in height. Leaves large, simple, lobed and scrubby. Flowers in catkins; unisexual; fruits prickly, globose, yellowish green, composite and seedless. Reproduction by root cuttings.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, anorexia, colic, and general weakness. Fruits used as vegetable. Latex on external use cures abscess and local inflammation.
