Distribution – Cultivated in the colder parts of India, especially in Himalayan peninsula.
PLANT DESCRIPTION
A medium sized deciduous tree grows up to 30 meters in height. Leaves small, ovate, dentate, 1-4 inches (2-10 centimeters) long. Underside of the leaf tends to be a lighter color, usually gray or a fuzzy white. Flowers on whitish-pink, 5-petaled and fragrant. Each flower produces a yellowish fruit in the fall, contain 3-6 seeds.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, burning sensation, arthralgia, emaciation, weakness and general debility.
