PLANT DESCRIPTION
A moderate sized evergreen tree grows up to 25 meters in height. Leaves simple, opposite, variable in shape and glabrous and aromatic, with thick mucilaginous content on crushing. Flowers from January to March, inflorescence arises from old stem or axillary, flowers small whitish and aromatic. Fruits blue oval shaped one seeded drupes.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta fever, low back pain and in inflammations. Leaves are using as an ingredient in curries, for flavor.
