PLANT DESCRIPTION
A large shrub or small tree grows up to 4 meters in height. Leaf simple, alternate, ovate or variable in size, serrate, acute; flowers greenish, unisexual, male catkins ovaid, and female cylindrical; fruits cylindrical syncarp of many drupes, dark purple when ripe.
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated vata, pitta, fever, stomatitis, intestinal worms, burning sensation and constipation. Ripe fruits have aphrodisiac property.
