Distribution : Throughout in south India, especially in Karnataka.
PLANT DESCRIPTION
An evergreen, small tree or a large bush grows up to 5 meters in height. Leaves simple, opposite, leathery, lanceolate, acuminate and bright green. Flowers arises from axils or from the old stems, small bright blue, found in clusters. Fruits small oval edible drupes, become dark blue on ripening, containing oval seed. 
MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Plant pacifies vitiated pitta, burning sensation, conjunctivitis, leucorrhea, gonorrhea, menorrhagia, bruises and constipation. 
Useful part    :    Roots, leaves, fruits
CHEMICAL CONTENTS
Plant contains resin, a yellow glycoside, gum, starch, malic acid, and inorganic matters.
